Take a look at the place, the people and the food…
The Acorn Bar & Restaurant has been in operation for over 10 years now. It is a cosy English style Restaurant and Pub set at the foot of the Dandenong Ranges in The Basin. It’s a friendly and atmospheric venue with a unique cottage feel.
The Acorn is perfect for getting together with friends and family, for small and large functions, even special events and wedding receptions. We have a wide variety of talented artists perform live music every Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening. The Acorn also hosts special events from time to time, such as Trivia Nights, themed dinners/events as well as Happy Hour and Dinner specials , so be sure to stay up to date with our latest and upcoming events here on our website or via our Facebook page.
The Acorn’s current proud owner is Tony Eastwood. He has worked hard to keep the homely feel of this favourite meeting place for locals. We also have a very talented head chef Marcus, so your taste buds are sure to be tantalised when you dine with us!
So call in and visit us at The Acorn Bar & Restaurant, everyone’s favourite little pub.
We look forward to meeting you and making some new friends.
Cooking with love, passion and fun I’ve been cooking for 13 years. Learning many styles from many great chefs. Italian, French, Traditional Irish, British, Spanish, Thai and Chinese, using a lot of different fusion methods.
I started cooking in Belfast, moving around some of the cities best restaurants trying to learn as much as possible. Taking all the experience in learning all the time, where I gained the knowledge to acquire jobs that took me from America to Saudi Arabia training local chefs for a chain of Italian restaurants. As long as you have the passion you’ll love it.
Now I am at the beautiful venue, The Acorn Bar & Restaurant in the Basin, surrounded by postcard scenery.
“Cooking is not just a job, it’s a way of life that surrounds us all everyday. All it takes is a bit of time and fresh ingredients to make something that tastes and looks amazing” – Joe Weir
